About the Artist : Lacy JaeCalgary-based silversmith, jewellery and visual artist. I focus on creating wearable work in a variety of themes, drawing my influence from personal interactions with myths, fictions, and facts. My work is an exploration of my personal journey and how my beliefs and ideas connect with existing legends. I love learning new techniques and playing with my materials, and much of my work has an outwardly playful and intriguing aspect. I find that my intimate intereactions with cancer and disease are not entirely serious, and I enjoy juxtaposing cheerful shells mischievously with a more serious meaning. BIOGRAPHYOutside of my art-making interests, I love to read, watch horror movies, listen to a very eclectic mix of music, and travel. I am a five year Ovarian Cancer survivor.I love to have fun, no matter what I'm doing. I have great friends, wonderful family, and the best boyfriend a girl could ask for. |
